In the fall of 2016, we were approached by enture capitalists Vanedge Capital to redesign their website. They previously had two separates sites: a one-page homepage with a separate news/blog site. We merged the two together, and expanded the scope of the website. THe new website encorporates:

• Portfolio Company listings. with filtering by industry sector
• Expanded News section, incorporating WordPress post formats
• Team bios
• Link blog posts to portfolio companies
• Custom homepage slider using the Slick javascript carousel library

We implemented a custom architecture using WordPress custom post types and custom taxonomy. We used relationship fields in Advanced Custom Fields to link the portfolio companies to news releases and blog posts. The design used a commercial theme (Unicon) as a base theme, with extensive customizations done in a child theme to incorporate their branding and the custom templates needed for the site architecture.
